De Pamiri Handicrafts is a Tajik NGO that promotes handicrafts in GBAO.


We support the creative production of traditional handicrafts, opening new economic opportunities and promoting Pamiri culture and identity.

Our partner artisans produce:


Felt crafts (carpets, toys, slippers)
Knitted crafts (socks, skull caps, scarves and other items)
Embroidery (wall hanging, skull caps, purses)
Woven carpets (from sheep wool and goat or yak hair)
Traditional musical instruments
Wood carvings
Woven baskets

The Gorno-Badakhshan region is an administrative Oblast (Province) of Tajikistan.
Badakhshan is the name carried by a territory and its people physically divided by the Pianj river and politically divided between Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
